Volunteer Opportunities
We are a 100% volunteer organization and we NEED YOU! The rewards are endless, find your niche and join us! Here are just some of the ways in which you can volunteer for Purr Partners. There may or may not be a need in a particular position at any given time (except Foster Parents, which are ALWAYS NEEDED!), but we will absolutely work to find a good fit for your time and skills where it will have the greatest impact.

- PetSmart Adoptathon Counselors
Adoptathons are held every weekend at each of three area PetSmart Adoption Centers: Wake Forest on Retail Drive, or in Raleigh at Six Forks Station or Capital Crossings. You will be the face of Purr Partners and interact with the public, being flexible and friendly is definitely a plus! You will show cats to pre-approved adopters, discussing their bio/personality, health records, and explain our adoption process to potential applicants. Tasks may also include setting up/taking down cages, adding food & water, giving the cats potty breaks and answering basic questions from PetSmart customers. Oh, and the cuddles and purrs are FREE! - Fostering – keeping cats and/or kittens in your home until adoption; caring for them, transporting to the vet, supply days, PetSmart Adoption Events, etc. We need fosters for cats of all ages, as well as specialty fosters such as quarantine and medical fosters.
- Cat Cuddling and Adoption Center Maintenance – Cuddling the kitties and cleaning their condos one evening a week at our PetSmart Adoption Centers (Wake Forest, Six Forks Station and Capital Crossings in Raleigh.)
- Fundraising – Annual fundraising events include: Silent Auction and Wine Tastings, 5K and Fun Run, local festivals, dining for dollars and more!
- Special Event chairs for annual events: Halloween Ball, Casino Night, Pints for Purrs, Kitten Palooza,
Black & White Prom, etc. - Donation coordinators request donations from area businesses for events.

- Marketing & Publicity Committee – help spread the word out about the wonderful work we do!
- Advertise events by distributing posters and flyers to area businesses in Wake Forest and Raleigh.
- Internet Contributor to submit press releases, advertisements and events on area websites and community calendars.
- Graphic designers to make posters, flyers, social media posts, etc.
- Purr Partners Website Editor – WordPress experience needed.
- Photography/videos – helping the fosterer get good pictures of their foster cats and kittens, photographing events, producing videos.
- Development – help raise funds through capital campaigns, major corporate and business gifts, foundations, major individual gifts, grants.
- TNVR Team – help us with our new Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return Program in Franklin County.
- Transportation– organize freedom rides from shelters, transporting to the vet, and other transportation needs.
